- Gaithersburg This RCRA investigation includes the analysis of soil and water samples for volatiles, semivolatiles, metals and PCBs. Approximately 70 soil samples and 45 water samples are being analyzed by SW846 methods. Two weeks from sample receipt a pdf file with results is sent via email. A CLP-like data package along with an Excel electronic file is delivered in 30 days from sample receipt. Tetra Tech Phase Separation Science performed the analyses for the investigation at this Superfund site. Approximately 65 water and soil samples were analyzed for priority pollutant metals (PPL) list, TCL semivolatiles, TPH - gas and diesel range, Cr+6, pesticides, PCBs and a site specific list of volatile compounds. Analyses were performed by SW846 and faxed on a standard turnaround time of 5 business days with a data package delivered in 28 days from sample receipt. ENSAT - Maryland State Superfund and VCP Contract Under this five year contract Phase Separation Science provides laboratory services for remediation projects for Maryland's Department of the Environment. The analytical scope of work includes volatiles, semivolatiles, PAHs, pesticides, PCBs, Herbicides, TAL metals, total petroleum hydrocarbons, cyanide and other wet chemistry parameters. Analyses are performed by SW846 and MCAWW methodologies. Standard turnaround times for faxed results are five business days with a data package delivered in 28 days from sample receipt. URS Corporation - Gaithersburg This extremely time sensitive project located at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA required emergency (next day or sooner) turnaround times for analysis for RCRA metals and PAHs. A total of 30 wipe samples from air ducts were analyzed by SW846 methods. Results were rushed to personnel in the field and they were able to determine where to take the next sample set. In this way the extent of the contamination was quickly delineated. Earth Engineering & Science This project at Andrews Air Force Base required one week turnaround time for the analysis of 30 soil and water samples. Performing all analyses by SW846 protocols, Phase Separation Science analyzed waters and soils for total petroleum hydrocarbons - gas and diesel range and TCLP metals on the soil samples. URS Corporation - Bethesda This project required one week turnaround time for the analysis of organochlorine pesticides on 200 soil samples and 50 wipe samples. All analyses were performed by EPA SW846 method 8081A. One third of the data packages were CLP-like data deliverables. The remaining data deliverables were summary QC packages. A client specific EDD was created to meet project needs and delivered with faxed results at the end of one week. State of Maryland, Laboratories Administration, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Baltimore, MD. The State of Maryland provided a special laboratory services award to Phase Separation Science. This three year contract required that PSS provide all RCRA and related testing services needed by the State of Maryland on a routine and emergency basis. PSS was required to provide around-the-clock service, 365 days a year. All data produced as a function of this project had to be legally defensible due to the enforcement actions that may result as a function of this testing. FMC Corporation Phase Separation Science provided off-site analytical overflow and rapid turnaround time support for FMC Corporations laboratory. PSS provides emergency pickup services and 24 hour a day, 365 day a year priority service for FMC. PSS has analyzed numerous samples for volatile organic compounds, semi-volatile organic compounds and metals. URS Greiner Woodward Clyde Federal Services Phase Separation Science provided analysis services for a large lead sampling project awarded to URSG Woodward Clyde Federal Services by the U.S. Coast Guard. This project involved the analysis of over 2000 paint chip, soil and water samples collected from Coast Guard bases nationwide. PSS analyzed these samples by ICP/MS providing an extended deliverable package with the final results. Government of the District of Columbia, Washington, DC Phase Separation Science was awarded a contract to provide all testing required by the Government of the District of Columbia, Environmental Regulatory Agency, UST program. This contract required that PSS serve as the Districts laboratory for all routine and emergency testing requirements related to groundwater contamination caused by leaking underground storage tanks. This contract required that all data had to be legally defensible. Maryland Environmental Service - Martin State Airport Phase Separation Science provided on site and laboratory groundwater support for this extensive project. PSS was selected for this project after MESs contract laboratory failed to produce adequate data. This project required that PSS provide rapid turn around time on sample results and complete CLP type deliverables. The data for this project was subject to an extensive independent data validation. City of Salisbury Phase Separation Science was awarded a one-year contract to provide all necessary subcontract analytical services for the City of Salisburys wastewater treatment plants. This contract required that PSS provide wet chemistry, metal and organic analysis support for wastewater samples provided on a weekly basis. Crown Central Petroleum Phase Separation Science was awarded a one-year contract to provide all necessary subcontract analytical services for Crown Central Petroleum. PSS provided a variety of petroleum hydrocarbon and miscellaneous RCRA testing services for all Crown environmental consultants and contractors. This contract required that PSS offer routine and priority testing services to Crown. Environmental Resources Management Phase Separation Science provided petroleum hydrocarbon analysis on soil collected from tank removal operations at U.S. Postal Service facilities throughout the state of Maryland. This project involved the analysis of numerous soil samples for TPH GRO, TPH DRO, and BTEX on a standard and rapid turnaround time basis. IT/OHM As an approved IT contractor, Phase Separation Science provided analytical support for soil and water samples collected as part of the environmental remediation efforts at the Washington Navy Yard. This effort involved the analysis of numerous samples for metals, semi-volatile organic compounds, volatile organic compounds, cyanide, TPH and TCLP on a rapid turnaround time basis. U.S. Navy Bainbridge Phase Separation Science was awarded a two-year contract to provide sampling and analytical testing services for monitoring wells at the U.S. Navys Bainbridge facility. This contract required that PSS purge a large number of monitoring wells, collect samples and analyze them for a wide variety of inorganic and organic constituents. Clean Venture/Cycle Chem Clean Venture/Cycle Chem selected Phase Separation Science to provide groundwater, surface water and soil sampling as well as analytical testing services for a "Brownfields" program site located in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. This project required that PSS provide a complete deliverables package with the final analytical results. |
